The A to Z Challenge To Promote A Book - IWSG April Post

I'd forgotten how exhausting taking care of kids all day can be. I took my sister's boys to the park adjacent to our complex and we had  lot of fun racing, though I must admit it felt like I was chasing them.

I wanted to wear them out and while I succeeded, I was also worn down to a nub. Then we went home to watch Spiderman and Batman movies. They dressed up in Spderman and Batman costumes, though we had problems keeping Micah in character. So many times we had to remind him that he was Batman, not Maori, because he constantly interrupted the movie to practice a haka. They are now collapsed on the floor watching Storks (The animated movie) while I  type this blog post.

Anyhoo, the past couple of weeks have been going well. My medical team have given me an all-clear and discharged me from lung treatment. I was a bit nervous about that, probably because psychologically I'd gotten used to taking the pills and thought I needed them. "How was I going to function without them,"  I asked the nurse. She reminded me that the medication was supposed to fix what was wrong with me, and once that was done, my body could function on its own without them. I suppose the fact that I'm able to chase the boys is proof-positive that my body is mended and can function without an influx of drugs.

So to answer the question for this month's edition of the Insecure Writers' Support Group: Have you taken advantage of the annual A to Z Challenge in terms of marketing, networking, publicity for your book? What were the results?

The answer to that is no, I haven't. Not yet. I've done the A to Z Challenge, but not to market or promote any particular book. I am looking forward to doing that though, when Roundafire starts releasing my children's books.

When I spend time with my nephews, they wear me down, too. They are good at that. :P

Kids do keep one busy, but it's a good kind of worn out. Glad to hear that your lungs are doing better!
