Testing a different template

What do you think? I wanted something fresh, but not too busy. Something I wouldn't mind looking at everyday.
Woke up with a really bad headache ( and it's a stress headache, I know). Worked anyway, because web sites don't update themselves.

Got a rejection from a national magazine for a proposed story. The good news is that he told me what he's looking for - more news, less featuresque - and gave me his phone number and I suggested I call him next time I have an idea that could work for him. So I'll no longer be querying into the dark beyond the next time I try out that this.
Putting up a number of articles on Ezine Articles for myself and clients. I hope it pays off with increased traffic. Traffic is always excellent for client reports.

Anyho, have a great weekend.

The blog is easier on the eye, and I can "find" your links better. But perhaps a slightly brighter colour? You seem like a sunnier person than steal blue grey.

Sounds like another "good" rejection. A few tweaks and you'll be in!

Have a wonderful weekend.

LOL Tiah. Is that what the colour is called? And yes, I'm generally sunnier than this colour. I'll spend the weekend looking at colours. The orange, whcih I started out with, was too bright and the blue to pasty.

I love the sea pic. Because I love the sea.

I think rejections with feed back are wonderful, at least you have made the connection and they know you. I wish everyone rejected as nicely as that client. I think writing is a sadistic job, that's for sure.

@po- I find I deal much better with rejection when I have sent out a lot of queries and proposals out there, because the rejection does not feel like my lance to get something published.

I actually had another rejection later today ( after I posted) from a book editor who I hoped was going to publish a novel I've been working on, on and off ( I've mentioned it here). She wrote to say that the publisher has shifted priorities and the project I would contribute to has been shelved. And because I'm juggling so many thanks, my response something like "Oh well. Guess I'm going to have to finish the story and find another publisher then."

Whereas I think if I didn't have other stuff out there, this would have been a huge blow.

I like changing my background every two minutes. I like this layout better... way way way better. before sometimes it would run off the page. This one looks good.

Sorry about your rejection but it sounds like he left his door open for you which is better than it slamming in your face?!

@paula - yes, this was sorta a positive response. On Wednesday I had another rejection where the editor said something like, "we're unable to publish your release. sorry." it felt cold, and i'll be more cautious about approaching that editor with another story idea.

I like the new look very much. Soft and gentle and easy on the eyes!

(((HUGS))) on the rejection, but take heart from the fact that he gave you his telephone number. he must have liked your writing voice a LOT to do that (even if he didn't like that particular piece!)
