Time has flown very fast for me, and it's hard to believe that almost half of 2011 is gone. It's been a good period for me though...a lot less stress than I experienced last year and I've been much more productive. I'm looking forward to the rest of the year and feel very relaxed about it.
How has the first half of the year been for you? Did you achieve some of the goals you set for this year? Or do you now need to race through the rest of the year to try to meet your goals?

This first half of the year tossed a lot of unexpected at me. Not bad, just hectic. Hoping from August onwards life will be a wee bit slower.
I think I have a few more of my "wants" accomplished than I thought I would. I did the e-book and an online course, and am expanding in both areas, which I didn't think I'd be doing yet.
Now starts the race. The earnings have been off since I've put so much time into these other projects (and they're not quite making tons of money yet). So I have to push the marketing so that I can work through a typically slow summer and get my yearly totals up. Amen that I'm able to recoup - the best part of being a freelancer. :)
@ Tiah - now that you're settling in your new home, I do hope that things slow down and you have a beautiful Spring and summer of 2011. And it would be nice is more editors bought your short stories and essays:-)
@ Lori -yeah, the wonderful thing about being a freelancer is that you can and recoup.... or change your goals to aim for a different target. I do hope that your ebook and online course do make you tons of money over time. BTW, if you'd like, come back to my blog when you have time to blog about The Worthy Freelancer's Guide... I have a number of writer reader/frieds who I think could benefit somewhat from this. Some are still stuck taking low-paying work because it's regular work, and I'd like to see them move beyond that and also improve their earnings for the second half of the year.
Damaria, you're on! Let me drop you a note.
2011 halfway mark? Yeeks! As I said in a recent post, my life seems to be on fast forward and 2011 is just a lamborghini at top speed on the highway of life. (Little Mr is a lambo fan!) I've done some of what I planned to do and some great things I didn't plan on but serendipity brought them my way, like the opportunity to be part of Storypot on a regular basis. I've been blessed with a long friendship with someone (D!) who never fails to mentor and support and 2011 has been especially blessed in that regard. I hope to get through the day job year without murder, mayhem or a total breakdown and get my soul's satisfaction from the writing on the side. I have high hopes for the novels I submitted/will be submitting and I'm visiting home for the first time in 8 years. All in all, 2011 has been good so far. Here's hoping the rest of it is fruitful and inspiring.
