Back at work

The holidays with family in the North West province and then in Durban were great. I enjoyed the rest, slept a lot and acquired a new name. My two year old nephew calls me Lali. We couldn't figure out how he came to the name, until this morning when it dawned on me that my brother-in-law calls me Dami ( and no, you're not allowed to call me that:-) and I realised that Matthew is trying to imitate his dad and getting his consonents mixed up.

Flew in from Durban this morning on the 6am flight, arriving at 7am ( exhausting, as I had to be at the airport at 4.30 and it's a 45 minute drive from where i was staying to the airport). Airports in both cities seemed kinda empty, which was weird to me, as i'd expected crowds coming back to Joburg after a summer/festive season holiday on the beach.

Started work as soon as i arrived. Yes I know it's earlier than the 9th January that I had promised myself, but the publisher sent first pages of Book 1 before I went away on leave and the timing is so tight it's best I deal with them right now, rather than later. And the emails have started streaming in (some with assignments), so it's better I start making a dent on them now, instead of dealing with all thousand of them at the same time next week.

It did give me a chance to catch up with work that fell through the cracks while I was hectic late last year. Anyhoo, welcome back and I hope 2012 is good to you.

So glad you are safely back. Here's hoping that 2012 is a great year for all of us, especially DSM.
