Feast, Famine & Potluck: An Anthology

A Short Story Day Africa 2013 Anthology
Earlier this year I was one of the judges of the Fairy Tales, Myths and Legends competition, a short story competition for kids, which was part of Short Story Day Africa 2013.

So I was pleasantly surprised when Tiah sent me Feast, Famine & Potluck, an anthology of the 19 short-listed and winning short stories from Short Story Day Africa 2013. The book was published on Smashwords.

Thank you Tiah! This is a nice Christmas prezzie:-)

Anyhoo, as they describe it on Smashwords, Feast, Famine & Potluck is a dazzling collection from across the African continent and diaspora.

"Food is at the centre of stories from authors emerging and established, blending the secular, the supernatural, the old and the new in a spectacular celebration of short fiction.

Civil wars, evictions, vacations, feasts and romances – the stories we bring to our tables that bring us together and tear us apart. The anthology includes the winning story, "My Father's Head", by Okwiri Oduor, with a foreword by Rachel Zadok.:

I can't wait to dive into it.

BTW, you can buy the book on Smashwords at just $6.99.

The mimosas are blooming in the village
Meanwhile, I'm still writing, though I wish I was faster due to deadlines, native plants are very colourful and my gardens are doing well enough, despite the fact that water is very scarce (we've had a shower or two, but nothing that does more than reduce the red dust bowl)
