One of the challenges I face when talking to my clients about the value of online communication versus broadcasting, is the issue of reach. How many South Africans can they potentially reach online? Is having web presence good value for money, or something that they should do because gurus tell them they should, and maybe years down the line they're going to start getting the benefit?
Indra de lanerolle has written a very interesting article, looking at Why Broadband Threatens Mass Media.
Read it, and tell me what you think.

Interesting article. He has a poitn, although I think he's a bit extreme in his predictions.
What did you think?
I think it's only a matter of time before some of the predictions come to pass.
When I worked as a telecoms journalist, these predictions, and the impact of Convergence of technology and communication media on how we access content were being made. And that was way back in 2005.
BUT, it's going to take much longer than many of the experts are saying, primarily because broadcasting does the job to a very last extent, and it's hard to fix what's not broken, even when you offer an improvement.
