What l learnt this past week

As you know, it's been a rough week in Damariaverse, but the week ends on a very good note. Mma is feeling much better. Looking better too. Laughed quite a lot during our visit. I'm starting to realise that while recovery will not be easy, there will be a recovery to worry about. Yay!

I am going to spend a big chunk of the weekend working, to catch up with work I couldn't focus on earlier in the week. It's nothing stressful, so it's all good.

What i learnt this past week:

1. Good friends are like gold. Treasure them, because they will stand by you through thick and thin.
2. Some things are not free - Make sure you understand clearly what the price of their support will be. Sometimes the price is too high, like if the people who helped you use their support for emotional blackmail. (Long story as it relates to me, but let's just say supporting me grants no one any rights to tell me what to do with my life).
3. Illness is expensive - and I don't just mean the medical bills, which are extremely low for the care Mma is taking ( She's getting excellent care at the local public hospital, where she has a private room which has en suit, the food is good, the room looks like a hotel room except for the funny bed, and sheets and nighties are changed daily.)But, there's increased travel expenses for siblings to travel home, for daily hospital trips and back, telephone calls and just expenses to make our stay at Mma's home comfortable.
4. trying to juggle family business and work is hard. Once you open the laptop, there is so much to do it's hard to get away. I feel like I'm doing a job for three people.

Anyhoo, have a good weekend and take care of your families.
