Ode to a train

Visiting my mother is good for my creativity. Somehow it's easy to access memories of a song we used to sing as kids/ stories we used to tell.

Today I remembered the "Ode to a train" while taking a bath:

A millipede
That creature that slides along
Has one eye
An eye as big as a giant’s.
Oh my!
The giant is here
It’s wooshing like the wind.

Choo choo choo choo
Enter here
Choo choo choo choo
Exit here
Choo choo choo choo
Turn here
Choo choo choo choo
Stop here

I’m going to Kgalagadi
Be well when I come back

Original Lyrics

Sebokolodi
Selelemedi
Leitlho ke le lengwe
Leitlho ke la ga dingwe
Ijo nnana ijo
Dingwe ke ke yo
O tla a suma jaka phefo.

Choo choo choo choo
Tsena fa
Choo choo choo choo
Tswaya fa
Choo choo choo choo
Ema fa
Ke ile kwa Bokgalagadi
Ke fitlhele le tsogile sentle.
