The ulcer is still giving me some bad moments, so I'm taking the next couple of days a bit easy.
It's month-end, so I'll still work on the reports, udate the web sites etc, but no new work for now. I hope!
I don't want to be stuck in bed again for days on end. And yes, I did change my meds, and they have alleviated most of the pain.
I've also started being more careful about what I eat, using lots of vegetables and fruit, but no wheat and dairy. A gluten-free, dairy-free diet always makes me feel much better.
But it's hard to maintain, because it rules out a lot of treats ( pastries, breads, desserts like pudding and ice cream, or even chocolate bars).
I wished I could eat this soup (image on the left), which I made for the family to keep them warm.
There was no particular recipe - I simply dumped leftovers from the fridge into a big bowl, added bits if carrots, mushrooms, green pepper and onion, some herbs and stuffed the dish into a microwave oven to cook until soft.
My version was a lot less exciting - no pasta,or the tomato bean soup that was part of this recipe. Ho hum!

Hey, D, I am home in bed myself today. I thought the day of rest is what might finally work against this flu that doesn't want to go away. Sorry that your ulcer is still acting up. I made some soup myself today but included the pasta that you can't eat. I have to say I also do better with less wheat and dairy - is it old age? We ARE 39, you know! Take care and keep warm. I'm back in the office tomorrow.
I am gluten and dairy free everyday! And if by chance something slips in it makes me feel YUK!!!
@Laura - Nice! I'm going to make it part of my mission in life to raid your recipe collection.
I suffered from stress-induced IBS and was told to go gluten-free. That would be fine if it was just me, but try getting my hubby to give up bread and biscuits! And gluten-free alternatives are so expensive.
Glad to hear the new meds and altered diet are helping.Hope it continues to improve.
Hope it works out and you feel LOTS better soon.
Have a great weekend.
Pamela
Hi Damaria,
Looks like you're on a strict diet regime. The food in the plate would definitely keep you and your family warm. I hope everything is fine with you, health-wise. Here’s wishing you a healthy day ahead.
@Tamara - One of my challenges going gluten-free is family members and friends who either "forget" that I'm on this meal plan, or who tell me,"surely just eating wheat this one time won't hurt?" And you're right; gluten-free alternatives are way expensive. I mostly just do without.
@Pamela - thanks. weekend was great, and very restful. I hope you also had a good break from work.
@iwrite2know - Thanks. Enjoy the rest of the week.
I feel your pain. I'm having similar issues. I hope you feel better soon.
